This Notice sets out items required by regulation. Please also refer to our Web Site Terms of Service and any other agreements with us for additional information and relevant provisions. All such agreements are incorporated herein by reference.
Personal information. When you apply for, open or maintain an account with us, or otherwise use our Site, we may collect certain personal information, depending on the product or service. The personal information we collect may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, Social Security Number, date of birth, income, net worth, employment information, investments and investment experience, risk tolerance, credit score, external bank account number, routing number, available balance, and current balance, as well as information about your personal investment ideas, goals or objectives.
Other information. In addition to personal information, additional information, which does not identify you personally, may be collected by our web servers for the purpose of measuring statistics about our visitors, such as the number of visits to the Site, the average time spent on the Site and the pages viewed on the Site. Such non-personally-identifiable information may be used by Nvstr and its affiliates or shared with third parties. In addition, we use analytical tools to help us monitor traffic patterns and to see how users navigate through the Site. These analytical tools are used by us and our affiliates and service providers only and we do not disseminate personal information to any other third party, except as described in this Notice.
We may use personal information for a number of business purposes, including:
We may send “cookies” to your web browser to store information on your computer. Cookies do not contain personal information, unless you knowingly provide such information. If you access your account online, cookies may be used to verify your identity, to authenticate you as a user on our system and to personalize aspects of your experience on the Site. Nvstr may share information obtained from cookies with its employees, agents, and affiliates, but does not sell such information to unaffiliated third parties.
We may use third-party “pixels”, which are similar to cookies and are used to track inbound traffic from advertisements on other websites (including, among other things, IP addresses). We do not provide personally identifiable information to advertisers, advertising platforms, or similar companies in connection with these pixels, although we may provide your IP address. Any information you have provided to, or which has been collected by, third-party advertisers, advertising platforms, or similar companies is subject to their respective policies and your agreements with such companies, to which Nvstr is not a party.
You are not required to use cookies and pixels. Most browsers and mobile devices offer their own settings to manage cookies and other privacy settings.
We also collect information when you use our portfolio modeling tools, which we do not consider as your personal information. We do not generally share that information with others unless you permit it, but we may use that information in a variety of ways, including as set forth below.
We may disclose personal information we collect to our affiliates and service providers to the extent necessary in connection with providing services to you. Such service providers may include but are not limited to our clearing broker, order management system provider, web service provider and host. Service providers that receive your personal information must safeguard this information, and they may only use it for those purposes we specify. By applying for, opening, or maintaining an account with us, or otherwise using our Site, you consent to this type of sharing. If at any time you wish to withdraw this consent, you will be required to close your account.
One of our service providers is Plaid, which provides software that facilitates financial account authentication, identification, and transaction processing. By applying for, opening, or maintaining an account with us, you acknowledge and agree that we will treat your personal information in accordance with Plaid’s privacy policy, available here: https://plaid.com/legal/#privacy-policy. In addition, you expressly grant Plaid the right, power, and authority to access and transmit your personal data as reasonably necessary to provide its service to you.
In addition, we may disclose information about you as required or permitted by law to law enforcement or other regulatory or governmental officials. We may also use and disclose personal information as authorized by you, including without limitation information about positions and trades. We do not disclose personal information about our customers to non-affiliated third parties, except as described in this Notice.
You may be able to post information, comments or other written statements or materials. If you do so, the information you post or disclose will become public and may be available to other users. Any information you post will not be protected by this Notice. Your public profile will be visible to all users of the Site and may be indexed by search engines and available in search engine results.
Non-affiliates: You may limit or "opt out" of our sharing your personal information with non-affiliated third parties for joint or their own marketing purposes. We do not currently share your personal information with any non-affiliated third party in a manner that triggers this opt-out right. Accordingly, there is no need at this time for you to opt out or take any other action telling us not to share such information with non-affiliated third parties.
Affiliates: You may also opt out of our sharing certain personal information (e.g., information about creditworthiness) among our affiliated companies. We don’t share information about your transactions and experiences (e.g., account balance, trading activity and account history) with companies that aren’t affiliates or service providers; therefore, there is no need at this time for you to exercise your opt-out right. You may elect to restrict our affiliated companies from marketing their products or services to you based on information about you that we share with them.
If you wish to exercise your opt-out right for any reason described above, please contact us by email at legal@nvstr.com.
At Nvstr, we make your safety and security a top priority and are committed to protecting your personal and financial information. To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures and controls based on recognized security standards, regulations and industry best practices. The measures include reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of your account with us has been compromised), please contact us immediately in accordance with the “Contact Us” section below.

We encourage you to review the terms and conditions of use and privacy policy of all websites you use, especially before providing personal information.
We may update this Notice from time to time. The “Effective Date” legend at the top of this page indicates when this Notice was last revised. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Notice on the Site. Your use of the Site following these changes means that you accept the revised Notice. We encourage you to refer to this Notice periodically to learn about updates to our privacy practices.
In accordance with California law, we will not share information we collect about you with non-affiliates, except as allowed by law. For example, we may share information with your consent or to service your accounts.
